La Vera

Cáceres, Spain, 2016

Located in the Gredos valleys, an area known for its rich Mediterranean vegetation, this project focuses on reintegrating the house into the landscape after the disruption of construction. Transitional gardens were created around the entrance and immediate surroundings: initially planted with native species and, over time, designed to be replaced naturally by the local vegetation.

The pool area is framed by plantings that provide year-round interest, with species adapted to the climate and attractive to birds, butterflies, and other beneficial wildlife.

Native trees with a natural character were added to further blend the garden into its setting, ensuring full integration with the surrounding landscape.
